My name is Majella McCartan I am from Rostrevor, Co.Down.  I have been working as a exercise lecturer, fitness consultant, pilates teacher, fitness instructor and personal trainer for several years and focus on meeting the particular needs of clients. PILATES

PILATES begins at the CORE of your body, with full breaths refreshing cells working your heart and circulatory system, training the deep muscles of your abdomen, back, and pelvis to support your spine. Providing stability to the whole body as you move. Strengthening and stabilising the CORE MUSCLES and improving range of motion in our joints as well as makig you leaner, longer and stronger, giving you flatter abs and a better toned body. PiLATES Improves your physical strength, flexibility, posture, balance, alignment and enhances mental awareness through a system of exercises and technique.

PILATES FITBALL

Pilates Exercises on a Fitness Ball adds some fun but a challenge to your workout. Improving your Strength, Flexibility, Postural Alignment, Balance and Functional Movement patterns. Building strength in your CORE muscles  overall toning and improve your fitness.

BODY PUMP & TONE

As a form of physical exercise, aerobics combines rhythmic exercise with using Weights, Barbells, Body Bars, Dumbbells, ResistanceTraining, stretching and strength training to improve your fitness.

PILATES was developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920's, initially as a way to strengthen his own body following the effect of childhood illness. The sequence of exercises that he devised helps to build the body's flexibility, strength and endurance and has steadily grown in popularity all over the world. Pilates is an excerise method of slow controlled exercises that has the power to change your body shape by sculpting, toning and strengthening, lengthening and toning without bulking muscle you will become leaner, toned and more supple.

 

Joseph Pilates Quoted "In ten sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 sessions you will see the difference and in 30 sessions you will have a whole new body".

 

Pilates has become a vast growing method of safe exercise followed by celebrities, royalty, athelets, sportsmen, models, dancers, you and me. Pilates will leave you feeling calm, refreshed and invigorated. After a few pilates sessions not only will you see your body shape improve but your core strength and posture will be much be better, stronger and flatter. BODY PUMP & TONE - AEROBICS - STEP N TONE - BOOTCAMPS - BODY FIT & SCULPT

These classes uses various equipment:-

Body Pump class is performed to music using free-weights, plates, body bars - barbells and an aerobic step. During the workout you will learn the right techniques of basic exercise moves using body weight and equipment. Participants will use weights based on the exercise, fitness level and personal goals. Major muscle groups are worked via series of compound and isolation-based exercises. The focus is towards muscle endurance by moving light weights at high repetitions. (Rep Effect) During the workout you will or can use various weights for the session. 

GYM-Ball / Stability Ball, Body Bars and Dumb-Bells / Free Weights. The Gym-ball draws its history within the rehabilitation field in the 1900's. The ball was used by swiss physical therapists to develop balance and maintain relex response in children with cerebral aplsy. By the 1970's and 80's it was being utilised in America for spinal injuries and other orthopaedic and neurological conditions. Over recent years the Gym-ball has bounced its way into mainstream with more and more creative variations of use, being implemented by fitness professionals. Rightly earning its place as a versatile and extremely effective piece of exercise equipment.



Exercises suitable fo all levels Great Fat / Calorie Burning Exercise

PUMP N TONE is a mix of  aerobic's using the Step, Weights, Skipping Ropes, Resisitance Bands & Tubes  to work particular areas of the body toning and sculpting.  The "Pump N Tone" class is a more vigourous workout. The exercise's are planned to work all muscles groups and target the cardivascular strength &  endurance, working the heart and lungs, improving agility and speed which gives an all round sense of achievement, building technique and stamina.  This is a fun and challenging workout targeting the abs, back, shoulders buttocks, legs and arms. This is a safe effective workout giving results in your body shape, weight loss, building muscle strength whilst enhancing fitness health and well being.

 

Great mix of exercise spending 15 - 20 minutes on various training systems and muscle groups, ensuring a balanced workout enhancing fitness levels and lowering body fat.

The various exercises combines, use of weights - barbells, sliders, free weights, resistance tubes, skipping ropes and body weight. Motivation and challenging  as well as offering a fun and dynamic way to improving your overall fitness level, movement, enhancing core strength, stability,speed and overall health and wellbeing.

Will take you through basic series of stretching and toning exercises focused on conditioning the abdominal and lower back muscles to help improve posture and balance and increase flexibility. The "powerhouse" or "core" of the body - is used to build movement into the limbs and strengthen and lenghten the muscles giving balance and aiding back rehabilitation, well-being and overall improvement of the body both inner and outer.on a Pilates Ball

 

Tuesday - Pilates   FitBall : Time 12.00 - 1.00

Will take you through basic series of stretching and toning exercises focused on conditioning the abdominal and lower back muscles to help improve posture and balance and increase flexibility. The "powerhouse" or "core" of the body - is used to build movement into the limbs and strengthen and lenghten the muscles giving balance and aiding back rehabilitation, well-being and overall improvement of the body both inner and outer, through a workout on a Pilates Stability Ball. Balance Strength Flexibility and a Leaner Longer Toned Body. Improving posture flexibility and any weakness in the Body example back pain Knee pain shoulder pain and many more! 

 

Tuesday - Pilates for Pregnancy Exercise & Relaxation Class : Time 4.30 - 5.30pm

Pilates has the perfect recipe to keep you inshape throughout every trimester, not only will it keep you strong and flexible, but it's the perfect antidote to the discomforts associated with your pregnancy.

Thursday - Pilates Yummy Mummy Post Pregnancy : Time 10.30 - 11.30am

Our Improver Pilates class is based on individuals with little or no experience in Pilates, those just after a baby or just wanting to get fit and healthy.

Pilates is extremely beneficial in particular as it will improve your core and pelvic stability, balance, flexibility and lower limb strength. All of the above will improve your fitness weight loss exercise technique and posture and can also aid with recovery. ?‍

If you are looking to improve your fitness or to build performance and decrease the likelihood of injury or trying to tone your body then you should be engaging in strength training through this Pilates Class.

Our Improver Pilates class is designed for Post Pregnancy, New Mums, Post Operative, Rehabilitation, General Fitness and build on Pilates skills and techniques to help build strength tone and flatten abs

Thursday - Pilates Body Conditioning : Time 12.00 - 1.30pm

Pilates Body Conditioning exercises bring you through a repertoire of pilates moves to tone, strengthen abd to keep your body fit, healthy and lean. It will give you a mix of strengthening and deep core exercises to tone, shape and condition your body, from engaging your core, getting a great neutral curve in your spine to using your breath effectively. A must  for anyone looking to maintain a health weight and body shape.

 

Thursday - Teen Pilates : Time 4.30 - 5.30pm

Based on Pilates techniques classes are mat-based often including stability balls, small balls, resistance tubes, which are easy and fun to use. While effective and fun, the exercise programmes are aimed at developing a stronger body, and a more relaxed state of mind. Working to strengthen their bodies can increase self-esteem, stamina, abdominal strength and sleep. That combined with the focused breathing techniques essntial to the exercises, can help children/young people attain a much more serene and less stressful outlook as well as achieving a toned body.

 

Thursday - General Pilates : Time 5.45 - 7.15pm

Will take you through a series of stretching and toning exercises focused on conditioning the abdominal and lower back muscles to help improve posture, balance, strength and increase flexibility. The "powerhouse" or "core" of the body - is used to build movement into the limbs and strengthen and lenghten the muscles giving balance and aiding back rehabilitation, well-being and overall improvement of the body both inner and outer, awarness of movement, strength and resisitance of body against various exercises to enhance overall body performance and fitness, agility and well being.

 

Thursday - Intermediate Pilates : Time 7.30 - 9.00pm

Designed for the busy person, this early morning class will set you up for the day. Similar to the beginner pilates classes - focusing on "Core" strength by stretching and toning exercises to condition the abdominal and lower back muscles. Theses exercises improve posture, balance and increase flexibility as well as relaxation.

 

Friday - Pilates Stretch Tone & Relax : Time 10.00 - 11.30am

The structure of this class will help you stretch and relax the mind and body using and blending movements from Pilates with a range of exercises that emphasis on developing flexibility, mobility, core stability, balance and strength. Exercise technique, posture, alignment and breathing throughout the session using small Pilates equipment. Assisting your body with inner balance, well-being and a sense of relaxation in mind and body.

 

Friday - Gentle Pilates : Time 2.00 - 3.00pm

A Pilates class structured to enhance your posture, fitness health and general wellbeing.  The calm, controlled, flowing exercise movements provide the ideal class for clients, promoting mobility and improve core strength and stability.  Gentle Pilates is suitable if you are suffering from an injury, would like to return to exercise flatten and tone abdominal muscles, improve your body shape and to progress your fitness, strength and stamina this is the class for you.    

 

Friday - Beginners Pilates : Time 6.00 - 7.30pm

Will take you through basic series of stretching and toning exercises focused on conditioning the abdominal and lower back muscles to help improve posture and balance and increase flexibility. Pilates exercises on a Fitness/Gym/Stability Ball add some fun-but-challenging Pilates techniques to your workout routine to strengthen your muscles, improve your flexibility, postural alignment and functional movement patterns. Building strength in the core muscles in which provide a strong and stable base, forcing you to work your Core while balancing yourself on the ball. And get fit at the same time and help you look fantastic.
